MATS 2025

Mid-America Truck Show: 20 Questions with The Trucker’s Network Team

The Mid-America Truck Show (MATS) is the largest event of its kind in North America—a high-energy, industry-shaping gathering that brings together drivers, companies, innovators, and trucking professionals from across the country. This year, The Trucker’s Network stepped onto the show floor as a first-time exhibitor—and what an experience it was.

From connecting with drivers and industry leaders to representing our brand in front of thousands of attendees, it was a milestone moment for our team. We asked our team behind the booth to share their favorite memories, biggest takeaways, and unexpected surprises from this unforgettable event. Here’s what they had to say.

  • Was there a moment at the booth when you thought, “Wow, we’re really making an impact”?

When we kept having vendors come to us because they wanted to partner with us, because they felt like we really cared about truck drivers, I thought it showed that we were getting our message out. (Cindy)

  • What were some of the most common reactions people had when they learned about The Trucker’s Network?

I think the most common reaction was pleasure in our group’s ability to interact with the drivers and their families. The truck ride was a genuine hit for the younger folks. (Eric)

  • Did anything unexpected or funny happen during the show that made your experience memorable?

I was genuinely surprised by how much my 4-year-old daughter enjoyed the show and how family-friendly the whole event was. It was funny but inspiring that her favorite part was helping the team in the booth. She was really into it. It was an eye-opener to me that this show can effectively educate children about the value of the trucking industry and how to build a sense of community. My “no-babysitter” reason for bringing her along turned into a memorable experience of learning together. (Jonah)

  • How did the team support each other during the event? Any standout moments of collaboration?

I noticed during my shift that we had other people filling in and helping where help was needed. Whether it was helping unload more merchandise onto the table or helping with the kids and the semi-truck. (Katelyn)

  • What did you personally enjoy most about working the booth?

Meeting new people and being able to experience the trucking atmosphere. (Sara)

  • Was there a particular person or story that stood out during your conversations with attendees?

One guy and his wife wanted to have a conversation about partnering with The Truckers Network. In the conversation, I found out they also ran trucks, when he received a phone call from one of his drivers who had torn up the second trailer in as many weeks. Brought back memories from our time running trucks. 🙂(Eric)

  • What kind of feedback did you hear most from truckers and industry folks visiting the booth?

Most truckers talked about how the economy is changing and that it is good to find businesses that help out truckers, specifically on saving money while out on the road. (Tiffany)

  • What did you learn about the trucking industry by being part of MATS?

MATS truly brought light to the broad horizon of the trucking world. It’s not just the hard-working truckers moving our supplies and needs throughout the country, and insurance and financing, which is the norm we see in the trucking industry; it truly takes a village of all sorts to keep the trucking industry abroad. From truck stops, hotels, automotives, tires, miscellaneous electronics & headset devices, trucking mattresses, DOT securities, etc..The list literally just goes on. Thankful for the experience! (Lori)

  • How did you balance the high energy of the show floor with staying focused and engaged throughout the day?

When working the booth, you just have to focus on one person at a time to not be overwhelmed.  Exploring the show floor was very interesting, but same scenario: Walk slower and take your time so that you can see what each booth has to offer. (Jessica)

  • Did you get a chance to explore the show beyond the booth? What caught your eye?

Yes I did! The amount of creativity and time that a lot of the vendors put into their booths blew me away. There was something that would appeal to everyone regardless of age. (Lensey)

  • What was your proudest moment during the event?

When I looked around and saw our team surrounded by truck drivers and everyone was greeting them and interacting, my heart was full. (Cindy)

  • How would you describe the vibe and energy of MATS to someone who has never been?

The show was very vibrant and exciting. It had a strong sense of community and was very immersive for those who attended. (Megan)

  • What kind of preparation went into getting ready for the show from your perspective?

Preparation was a big part of making our presence successful. We focused on several key areas:

  1. Booth design and materials: We made sure our booth was visually appealing and clearly communicated who we are and what we offer.
  2. Team training: Everyone representing The Trucker’s Network was well-versed in our offerings, promotions, and messaging, so we could have meaningful conversations.
  3. Promotional planning: We coordinated marketing efforts ahead of time, including pre-show emails, social media posts, and giveaways to drive booth traffic.
  4. Logistics: Shipping materials, setting up schedules, and making sure everything ran smoothly at the venue took detailed planning.
  5. Networking strategy: We also identified key companies and industry figures we wanted to meet and network with ahead of time to maximize our time at the show.

Overall, MATS was a major opportunity to show the trucking community what The Trucker’s Network stands for, and with the right preparation, we made the most of it. (Lauren)

  • Did you discover anything new about your own strengths or skills through this experience?

I never felt like sales was my strong suit. However, after attending MATS, my ability to speak to others and gain their interest in our business came easily to me. The people I met all had interesting stories about how they ended up in the life they are currently in, and being a part of The Trucker’s Network and meeting the people we help through our membership was truly an amazing experience that I thank God for and will never forget. (Greenlee)

  • What did you take away from the show on a personal or professional level?

Attending the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) was an extraordinary experience that greatly expanded my knowledge and appreciation for the industry. Witnessing the dedication each company invests into the way their business operates and presents itself was truly inspiring. As an employee, it’s easy to get caught up in the routine and lose sight of the broader picture. It’s not due to a lack of care, but simply the rhythm of daily responsibilities. This event provided me with a valuable perspective, allowing me to view the business from both the inside and the outside. The first impressions customers form are shaped by elements such as advertising, branding, color schemes, and cleanliness. Seeing these aspects come together at MATS reinforced the importance of attention to detail and creativity in delivering excellence. (Brittany)

  • How do you see events like the Mid-America Truck Show helping The Trucker’s Network grow its reach or impact?

Events like the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) are essential for expanding The Truckers Network’s reach and strengthening our impact within the industry. MATS brings together a massive and highly targeted audience of trucking professionals, giving us the perfect opportunity to directly connect with drivers, fleet owners, and industry partners. Being face-to-face with our audience helps us build trust, explain the real value of our discount programs, and create lasting relationships. It also boosts our brand visibility on a national scale and helps us stay on top of industry trends by seeing firsthand what matters most to drivers and trucking companies today. (Lauren)

  • If you could go back and do one thing differently at the show, what would it be?

It would have been great to ask some Truckers there what they wish we

had available in TTN that we don’t currently have. (Amanda)

  • What advice would you give to someone attending or working at MATS for the first time?

Wear comfortable shoes and walk around the Mid-America Truck Show. Visit the other vendors to learn about their products. If you are working at MATS, walk around and introduce yourself to other vendors and ask them to visit your booth.  But, most of all, HAVE FUN! (Tammie)

  • How would you sum up your MATS experience in three words?

Educational, Exciting, Energetic. (Jenny)

  • Would you go again next year—and what are you most looking forward to if you do?

Absolutely! Attending the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) again next year is a must for us. The event offers a unique blend of innovation, networking, and entertainment that is unparalleled in the trucking industry. The opportunity to interact with new products and technologies firsthand is both informative and engaging. Connecting with fellow industry professionals, from drivers to fleet managers, fosters valuable relationships and collaborations. It’s an event that continues to set the standard for trucking industry gatherings, and I highly recommend it to anyone involved in the field. (Lauren)

Looking Ahead: More Than Just a First Show

The Trucker’s Network didn’t just show up at MATS—we showed up with purpose, energy, and a passion for the people who keep America moving. Whether it was answering questions, sharing stories, or just soaking up the electric energy of the show floor, each team member brought something special to the experience.

As we look ahead to next year, we’re taking what we’ve learned and dreaming even bigger. The connections made, the insights gained, and the memories shared at MATS 2025 have set the stage for what’s next—not just for our company, but for the future we’re building alongside the trucking community.
